The Kuterra Team

John Burton

Production Manager

A true Canadian through and through, John was born in Quebec, graduated from High School in Manitoba, and attended college at Fleming College in Ontario, where he studied aquaculture. He brings nearly 30 years of aquaculture experience to Kuterra, and has a keen interest in solving the challenges of RAS optimization, hitting production targets, and growing the most delicious fish you can buy. When he’s not serving as the Swiss Army knife here on the farm, he can be found gardening, reading, sport fishing, hunting, and gaming.

Gary Robinson

Aquaculture Specialist//Consultant

With over 45 years experience in salmon aquaculture, Gary brings a vast wealth of experience to Kuterra. In fact, he served in various roles with our organization from its inception, from project management to technical support to business development. If it happens in aquaculture, you can be sure Gary is an expert.

Cody Smith

General Manager

With more than 15 years of experience in aquaculture and wild capture fisheries, a decade working in leaderships roles, and five years helping to build the Kuterra brand, Cody has developed expertise in all things related to catching, raising, processing, and selling fish. Away from Kuterra, Cody is a father,  husband, fish guy,  skier, and youth sports coach. While his days are full, they’re full of fun and adventure.

Dylan Sjostrom

Maintenance Technician

With 3 years experience, Kuterra is Dylan’s first foray into aquaculture and he’s loving every minute.  His favorite part? The research and development aspect of an ever-changing and rapidly evolving industry. Off the farm, you’re most likely to find Dylan at the golf course, where he spends most of his free time.

Kaleb Gowan
